65 Roses.... that is what children who suffer from cystic fibrosis call the disease.
It is a genetic disease that, although not well known, affects thousands of children in the United States.
My cousin, Lynn Waters Hannah passed away a couple of days ago. She was on a waiting list for a lung transplant but ran out of time.
I had not seen Lynn in several years. As you get older it seems you mostly see relatives at funerals. I will be seeing folks tomorrow at Lynn's funeral.
I guess we are all too busy!
I remember as a young child Lynn was the poster child for the Bradford County Florida Cystic Fibrosis chapter or something like that. I do not remember the details. as I was only 8 years older than Lynn so I was still a single digit midget myself (under 10 years old).
Should you ever have the opportunity to donate to a worth while organization, think of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Life is too short. Lynn was only 45 years old and 65 Roses took its toll.

Gary - I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I have a friend whose son has Cystic Fibrosis, so I know just a little bit about it.
Gary-that just made me teary eyed! I am so sorry for you loss and I am thinking of you and your family!
Thanks for the education, and I'm so sorry. Why do they call it 65 roses? (Never mind, I just said it to myself... now I get it.)
Gary...
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. CF is a terrible disease, and I know that your cousin had a hard battle during her 45 years. Please accept my condolences.
Aww. Gary, I'm so sorry. I do like the name "65 Roses" though. It makes it sound like they're taking away the bad part of it. But age 45 is great, considering to the way it used to be. I have 2 cousings with CF. They're both in their 30s now. When they were young, the doctors didn't expect them to live past their teens. Now there's hope for people with this disease to live longer, more fulfilling lives. And as science progresses, I hope the life span, and quality of life continues to grow.
Holy Spirit, comfort this family and give them peace. Be their guide through the dark times, and hold them in your arms. And remind them that Lynn is now with You... with no more pain or discomfort... in perfect joy and peace. Amen.
Hi Gary, I did not know that about 65 roses. Wonderful info.
Have a great and successful week!
