So you have found the Viera Florida ideal house and you are ready to make an offer. You have checked the local Brevard County schools - even visited them. You have driven the routes to your new job. Even checked out the places of worship in the immediate Viera area.
In all the excitement of searching for yourhome you may have forgotten to check one other thing - whether there are any sexual offenders or predators living in the area.
To some folks, it is not an issue. For most, it is. I have had folks decide against an offer after checking the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Sexual Offenders and Predators web site.
Of course, you can only know the situation as of today. What stops a sexual offender from buying the home next door to you or renting the house down the street? I am not sure you have any control over what happens in the future but you can, and should, know the present status.
I will go even further - if you are considering renting a house, check the list as well!
FDLE has also established the following toll-free number for public access to FDLE's Registration & Compliance Unit: 1-888-FL-PREDATOR (1-888-357-7332). By contacting FDLE at this number, the public can request information about Sexual Offenders living in their communities and around the state.
