I just noticed I hit the 12,000 comments made mark this morning. Counting backwards (tough at my age!) I found the post that was the recipient of number 12,000. My comment sure seems appropriate...
I just read a nice quote -"Men for the sake of getting a living forget to live." by Margaret Fuller. I think it is fitting here!
Luke 12:34: "For where your treasure
is, there your heart will be also."
"Jamma, come quick, we found a TREASURE!"
What a treasure it was. Two dried Katiedids just waiting for two little boys to find and carry carefully home to Jamma's house where they showed them eagerly to their Pa and then hid them in their secret hiding places known only to them and Jamma. (Lucky Blessed me)
They're not concerned about IRA's, fancy cars, bigger houses, or even college funds. Yeah, I know, somebody needs to worry about these things, but not little boys and never Jamma when she's in the presence of true treasures; little boys and dried katiedids.
Can you still feel that childlike wonder at finding the perfect bud, shell or leaf? Can you get excited about a sunrise, sunset, puppy, kitten, the smile of a stranger across the room?
If not, then you need to spend some time with the real treasures - - - children.
Spend some time today searching for treasures and remembering.Where are your treasures?
